Ministering: Father Abraham
Authority Comes When We Survive The Storm
Key Scripture: Romans 8:35
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?” — Romans 8:35
You can never be a conqueror by your own strength or ability, but by the Spirit of the Lord.
After surviving the storm, you will never remain the same. That believer must gain something from the experience.
This could be:
1. Spiritual Maturity
2. Boldness
3. Authority
4. Faith and Confidence in God
5. Testimonies
The battles we survive always become our testimonies, which, in turn, strengthen the faith of others.
YOUR STORM CAN BECOME YOUR TESTIMONY
In John 4:39–43, the Bible talks about the Samaritan woman who met Jesus at the well and did not remain quiet.
She was going through marital storms, but when she met Jesus Christ, something changed. Jesus told her things about her life, and she went around testifying. Through her testimony, many Samaritans believed in Jesus.
Testifying now means that you have the authority to dominate what was dominating you, intimidate what was intimidating you, and terrify what was terrifying you.
No one faces a storm and comes out empty. You must come out with authority to dominate through the maturity you gained while enduring that storm.
JOB: A MAN WHO SURVIVED THE STORM
Job experienced pain and severe trauma, but he endured the storm. He remained anchored in God and refused to give up.
In Job 42:10, the Bible says:
“The LORD restored the fortunes of Job…”
God turned the captivity of Job and restored to him more than he had before.
Job’s storm did not have the final say. His endurance became part of his testimony.
GOD RESTORES AFTER THE STORM
In Joel 2:25, the Lord said to the people of Judah that He would restore to them what the locust had eaten.
There was a storm of destructive locusts, but God promised restoration.
Joel makes us understand that God does not only preserve us through the storm; He also restores us after the storm.
God compensates us.
God renews us.
God multiplies us.
What you thought you had lost in any storm of life, God is about to restore to you in greater measure.
Your latter glory will be better than the former.
YOUR SURVIVAL IS EVIDENCE OF GOD’S FAITHFULNESS
The fact that you are still standing, even in the storm, is evidence of the faithfulness of God.
You may have gone through the storm, but you are still standing.
You may have been wounded, but you are still standing.
You may have cried, but you are still standing.
You may have faced opposition, but you are still standing.
Your survival is itself a testimony.
SIGNS THAT A BELIEVER IS STILL STANDING AFTER THE STORM
1. He Still Worships God
The storm did not stop his worship.
Even after everything he has experienced, he still lifts his hands and gives God praise.
2. He Still Believes God
The storm may have challenged his faith, but it did not destroy his confidence in God.
He still believes that God is faithful.
3. He Still Speaks Words of Hope
He does not allow his experience to make him speak only words of defeat.
Even in the storm, he continues to speak hope because he knows that God is still at work.
4. He Still Walks in Obedience
The storm did not make him abandon God’s instructions.
He continues to walk in obedience because his relationship with God is greater than his circumstances.
5. He Still Carries Spiritual Fire
The storm may have tested him, but it did not extinguish his spiritual fire.
He is still praying.
He is still believing.
He is still worshipping.
He is still seeking God.
The storm did not destroy him; it developed him.
CONCLUSION
You cannot survive a storm and remain the same.
Every storm you survive must produce something in you: maturity, boldness, authority, faith, confidence, and ultimately, a testimony.
The battle you survived will become a testimony that strengthens someone else’s faith.
The storm may have come to break you, but God used it to build you.
You survived the storm, and now you have the authority to dominate what once dominated you.
You are still standing because God is still faithful.
PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord Jesus Christ, thank You for taking me through the storm. After the storm, I know I will testify.
2. O Lord Jesus Christ, preserve me through the storm and restore to me all that I have lost.
