Standing After The Storm
Key Scripture: Ephesians 6:10-13
There are seasons where darkness rises and seems to overwhelm you, but it is important to know that God permits every season you are going through for a reason.
God may permit some of these seasons to test our faith, refine or polish our character, announce a transition into a greater dimension of God’s glory, or draw us closer to Him. Some seasons may come to draw us closer to God so that we can have a deeper and more intimate relationship with Him.
This Scripture makes us understand that storms are unavoidable in the life of every believer.
Our true testimony is not only that we passed through the storm, but that we did so unharmed, and that after everything the enemy threw at us, we are still standing.
This makes us understand that no matter the storm we are going through, we will definitely survive the storm.
What It Means to Stand After the Storm
To stand after the storm means many things. These are:
1. To stand after what was meant to destroy you.
2. To keep your faith after all the pressure from the storm. You did not profess negativity.
3. To maintain your worship and praise to God despite the painful storm.
4. To remain rooted in Christ when everything around you is in chaos.
The enemy might have attacked your destiny, your career, or your ministry, but you should know that God’s intention is not that you should fall. His intention is that you should remain standing and become even better and stronger.
Storms are temporal, but only God’s preservation is eternal.
The Psalmist says in Psalm 34:19, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but God delivers us out of them all.”
Not some, but all.
So, no matter what storm you are facing, remember that the storm is not the end of your story. You will stand after the storm. You will remain rooted in Christ, and by the preservation of God, you will come out stronger, better, and with a testimony.
Standing after the storm is proof of divine strengthening.
Isaiah 40:31 says, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.”
When you wait on the Lord, He will renew your strength.
There are some storms that are too heavy for us to bear by our human strength, and in such storms, we have no option but to wait on the Lord.
God often begins to reveal His strength in us when our human strength fails us. When our human strength fades, He steps in.
In 2 Corinthians 12, when Paul could no longer sustain the storm by his own strength, he turned to God, and God said, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”
If you want to experience the perfect strength of God in every weakness, confess that weakness to Him.
If you are still standing, be rest assured that God’s grace is still working for you, so do not give up on God.
God uses storms to strip away what cannot last long in our lives, so that we will not be deceived by temporary things. Sometimes, the storm reveals what is not meant to remain and helps us hold on to what is eternal.
Storms reveal our true foundation. If you are still standing today, it means the storm tested your foundation and proved that you are built on God.
It is not because you are too strong, but because your foundation is strong.
The difference between a house that is still standing and one that has fallen or collapsed is its foundation. If your foundation is Jesus, you will resist the storm and stand. But if your foundation is built on other things, when the storm comes, you will not be able to stand.
So, to resist the storms, you must stand on a strong spiritual foundation—Jesus Christ.
Declarations
In the name of Jesus Christ, I will not faint or collapse under the pressure of storms. I decree and declare, I revive supernatural strength to sail through the storm I stand by Grace my testimony shall emerge after this storm. Every storm assigned again a my life expires now
