The Importance Of The Shoe Of Peace

1. The Shoes of Peace Help Us to Stand.
The shoes of peace help us to stand firmly, especially in the midst of spiritual warfare and difficult circumstances.
2. The Shoes of Peace Protect Our Spiritual Walk
Colossians 2:6
Our Christian testimony is connected to our walk.
Ask yourself these questions:
• How are you walking?
• Where are you walking?
• Whom do you walk with?
As Christians, the Apostle Paul urges us to walk worthy of our calling.
The shoes of peace help us to maintain a walk that is consistent with the Gospel we profess.
3. The Shoes of Peace Make Us Peacemakers
The Bible says, “Blessed are the peacemakers.”
Paul says in Romans 12:18 that, if it is possible, we should try to live in peace with all men.
As far as our responsibility goes, we should pursue peace.
As believers, we are not called to create conflict but to become carriers and promoters of peace wherever we go.
4. The Shoes of Peace Give Us Gospel Readiness
Our feet should be ready to go where our mouths say Christ is Lord.
A disciple who has put on the shoes of peace should always be willing and ready to say:
“Lord, use me.”
The Gospel is not something we should only speak about; it is something we must be prepared to carry wherever God sends us.
5. The Shoes of Peace Help Us to Walk in New Territories
This is a very powerful discipleship principle: God does not only call us to stand, but He calls us to go.
In Matthew 28:19, Jesus says, “Go ye and make disciples.”
The shoes, therefore, represent a believer who is:
• Rooted in Christ
• Bold enough to proclaim the Gospel
• Prepared enough to move
• Peaceful enough to represent Christ
• Bold enough to fulfil the calling that God has called them to
The shoes of peace speak of a believer who is prepared to stand, prepared to walk, and prepared to go wherever God sends them.
THINGS THAT CAN REMOVE OUR SHOES OF PEACE
There are things that can cause us to lose the shoes of peace, even when God has given them to us.
These things include:
1. Bitterness
Hebrews 12:15
Bitterness can take away the peace within us and affect the way we relate with others.
2. Unforgiveness
Ephesians 4:31–32
Unforgiveness keeps the heart in bondage and prevents us from walking in the peace Christ has given us.
3. Strife
James 3:16
Where there is strife, there is confusion and every evil work. Strife is therefore an enemy of peace.
4. Fear
2 Timothy 1:7
Fear can destabilize the believer and prevent them from walking confidently in what God has called them to do.
5. Constant Quarreling
Proverbs 15:1
Constant quarrelling destroys peace and affects both our spiritual walk and our relationships with others.
6. Anxiety
Philippians 4:6–7
Anxiety can rob us of the peace that God has made available to us. Instead, we are instructed to bring everything before God in prayer.
JESUS: OUR PERFECT EXAMPLE OF PEACE
Jesus is our perfect example of peace.
Even under pressure and in the midst of the storm, He was still peaceful.
In John 16:33, Jesus says:
“In me you will have peace, but in the world you will have tribulations.”
This shows us that peace does not mean that there will be no storms. Rather, it means that even in the midst of the storm, we can remain anchored in Christ.
The believer who wears the shoes of peace is not a believer who has no battles; it is a believer who has learned to stand, walk, and move in peace despite the battles.
