Healing Of The Mind

Key Scripture: Ephesians 6:17
If our minds receive healing, everything else can fall into place for our good. This is because the mind is at the centre of our spiritual battles.
This is why the enemy keeps trying to control our minds. He brings negative thoughts because he knows how important the mind is. The devil introduces condemnation, accusations, discouragement, despair, doubt, and every other negative thought into our minds.
1. THE ENEMY FIGHTS AGAINST THE TRUTH OF GOD’S WORD
Romans 8:1 says:
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
This Scripture helps us understand that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
The devil keeps fighting against the truth of God’s Word. Instead of accepting the truth that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ, he tries to make us believe that we are condemned.
2. CAST DOWN THE ATTACKS OF THE ENEMY
2 Corinthians 10:4–5 says:
“(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”
Paul tells us that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
Ephesians 6:17 says:
“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”
Ephesians 6:17 instructs us to take up the helmet of salvation. When we put on this helmet, we must also apply the principles in 2 Corinthians 10:4–5 by casting down the attacks of the enemy in our minds.
Without the helmet of salvation, our minds become vulnerable to different forms of attack. The purpose of this helmet is to protect our minds through the truth of God’s Word.
Just as a physical helmet protects the head, the assurance of our salvation protects our minds.
3. THE TRUTH OF SALVATION SETS US FREE
Many people struggle with fear, panic, guilt, destructive thoughts, and despair. These struggles can affect their peace, faith, and daily lives. However, we must remember that through Christ, we have received spiritual freedom.
When the truth of salvation takes its place in our lives, the lies and deceptions of the enemy begin to lose their grip on us.
Isaiah 53:5 says:
“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
This Scripture reminds us of the work Christ accomplished for us, giving us a solid foundation for trusting Him.
Psalm 23:4 says:
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”
This Scripture helps us understand that God’s presence gives us courage when we are afraid.
Romans 8:1 reminds us that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Romans 12:2 says:
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
This Scripture teaches us that our minds can be transformed through renewal, helping us develop a new way of thinking according to God’s Word.
4. DELIVERANCE ALSO INVOLVES OUR THOUGHTS
2 Corinthians 10:4–5 helps us understand that deliverance goes beyond overcoming external challenges. It also involves overcoming internal struggles, including gaining freedom from the deceptions of the enemy.
For you to be delivered from the traps of Satan, you must hold on to the Word of God concerning the situation you are facing, whether it involves sin, condemnation, fear, or any other challenge.
The helmet of salvation reminds us to protect our minds by holding firmly to the truth of God’s Word.
